NCR AgriServices held a farmers day presentation at Marquis Macadamias Processing Plant in Pongola, in collaboration with the SM Towing (John Deere Tractors), PT Engineering (SIKA Agriculture), KZN Agrochem & Saad (plant care and chemical spraying products) and Marquis Macadamias.

Viljoen Malan from Agri Services spoke on factors that need to be taken into consideration when calibrating your Orchard Sprayer or Crop Sprayer, for more information on calibration click here. Tim Tanner spoke about the Sika Orchard Mulcher, which is an excellent mulcher to use in citrus, macadamia and avocado orchards, as well as vineyards. It has a side chute delivery and heavy duty dual base plate, this mulcher offers a dual function to efficiently mulch the orchard’s prunings, and return the mulch to the base of the parent plant at the same time. Schalk Mostert from the SM Group graciously provided the John Deere Tractors for the demonstrations of the Mulcher and Sprayers.

Jarryd Adendorff from KZN Agrochem & Saad spoke about plant health and the importance of looking after your crops properly and when to spray and with what chemicals.
